ZF and Diehl Defence expand technical and defense service capabilities

Automotive supplier ZF has entered into a partnership with Diehl Defence to provide engineering services for defense applications. Based near Lake Constance, ZF will assist with technical development projects, ranging from initial concepts to the testing of components and systems. The collaboration aims to shorten development cycles and accelerate the creation of new defense solutions through the use of test benches, simulations, and realistic testing methods.

Separately, Diehl Defence is expanding its ordnance disposal capabilities by acquiring the aerial imagery database Dr. Carls GmbH through its subsidiary, the Tauber Unternehmensgruppe. This acquisition allows the group to offer historical research and analysis of aerial imagery to identify potential explosive remnants before physical searches begin. This addition completes a service chain that includes geophysical detection, recovery, defusing, and disposal of unexploded ordnance.
