ZF Friedrichshafen expands commercial vehicle business amid electric truck boom

ZF Friedrichshafen is expanding its Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division to become a central pillar of the technology group. The division currently generates approximately 7.8 billion euros in annual revenue and employs around 27,000 people across 60 production sites.

CEO Mathias Miedreich stated that the commercial vehicle segment accounts for about one-fifth of ZF's total revenue. The company aims to increase this revenue to approximately nine billion euros by the end of the decade. While the rise of Chinese electric truck manufacturers poses a challenge to the German automotive industry, ZF views this transition as an opportunity to grow its business in drivetrain, chassis, braking, and steering technologies.
