Zgorzelec Mandolinist Orchestra completes summer workshop in Zakopane

From 16 to 26 July 2026 the Zgorzelec Orkiestra Mandolinistów im. Tadeusza Grudzińskiego held an intensive musical workshop at the Jastrzębia Turnia guesthouse in Zakopane, Poland. Members rehearsed daily, working on material for a forthcoming album and upcoming concerts, while also tackling demanding passages that required patience and teamwork across the ensemble’s wide age range.

The programme combined music with cultural tourism: participants visited Zakopane’s museums, the ski‑jumping hill, and the Tatra National Park, including a hike to the scenic Rusin meadow and an ascent of the popular Gęsią Szyję peak. Good weather allowed a ride on the Gubałówka cable car, souvenir shopping and a sled‑track descent. An evening bonfire featured grilled oscypek cheese and sausages. The workshop concluded with a public concert showcasing the new repertoire prepared during the stay. The project was co‑financed by the city of Zgorzelec, the Gmina Zgorzelec and the Zgorzelec County.
