Zhang Boheng wins men's gymnastics all-around gold at Asian Games

Zhang Boheng of China retained his men’s individual all-around gymnastics title at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Accumulating 85.065 points, Zhang secured the gold medal by a margin of 0.367 over Japan’s Oka Shinnosuke, who took silver with 84.698. Hashimoto Daiki of Japan earned the bronze medal with 83.865.

Zhang noted that he competed despite a small injury, stating he focused on adjusting technical elements and maturing his mentality. Oka also faced challenges, managing a back injury through injections and oxygen capsules, which required him to downgrade certain skills.

The competition results also determined qualifiers for the team and apparatus finals. China led the men’s team qualification standings, followed by Japan in second and the Republic of Korea in third. Other teams qualifying for the team final include Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore.
