Zhang Zilong discovers family wealth after 20 years of living in simulated poverty

Zhang Zilong, a 26-year-old man in China, recently discovered that his family is extremely wealthy only after completing his university education. For 20 years, his father, Zhang Yudong, maintained a facade of financial hardship to instill independence and resilience in his son.

Zhang Yudong is the founder and chairman of the Mala Prince brand, a latiao company based in Hunan province with an annual output valued at approximately 600 million yuan. Despite this wealth, the family lived in a modest apartment in Pingjiang County. Zhang Zilong was led to believe the family business was heavily in debt, prompting him to seek a stable job with a modest salary to help pay off his family's perceived debts.

Following his graduation, Zhang Yudong revealed the truth. The family has since moved to a new villa valued at 10 million yuan. Zhang Zilong has begun working in the e-commerce department of his father's company, where he continues to work alongside colleagues without special treatment.
