Zhangjiakou explores new rural rhythms in Village Voyage season 3

The third season of the program ‘Village Voyage’ follows CGTN host Julian Waghann and Mexican traveler Juan Carlos Cheang Guzmán as they explore the Zhangjiakou region in Hebei Province, China.

The series focuses on the evolving landscape of rural life and the development of Zhangjiakou as a destination for outdoor culture, a trend bolstered by the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. In the Chongli district, the mountains are transitioning from seasonal ski slopes into year-round venues for activities such as mountain biking, hiking, camping, and trail running, including events like the Chongli 168 Ultra-Trail Race.

Through hands-on experiences with traditional crafts and local customs, the travelers aim to showcase the changing rhythms of the Chinese countryside and the people shaping its future.
