Zheng Qinwen wins WTA 1000 Beijing title

Zheng Qinwen has won the WTA 1000 in Beijing, becoming the first Chinese player to secure this premier title. The victory marks a significant comeback for Zheng following a period of physical and technical challenges, including a right elbow injury that previously caused her world ranking to drop to 122nd.

In the final, Zheng defeated Mirra Andreeva with a score of 7-5, 6-4. While Andreeva lost the match, former player Elena Dementieva praised the Russian's performance and mental strength throughout the tournament, noting her exceptional physical condition despite the loss.
