Zhongli Police launch child protection and school safety initiatives

The Zhongli Police Branch in Taoyuan has launched a multi-agency initiative to protect children and adolescents from inappropriate environments. A recent joint inspection involving 91 personnel from various municipal departments targeted KTVs, internet cafes, and billiard halls to prevent drug use, gambling, and sexual exploitation.

In recent operations, the branch reported 101 criminal cases involving 88 individuals, including fraud, theft, and drug offenses. Notably, officers recovered a modified handgun and 51 bullets during a follow-up investigation into a consumer dispute.

In a separate effort focused on student safety, police utilized drone technology to monitor traffic congestion near Qingpu Elementary School. Working with local representatives and the Transportation Bureau, authorities are planning infrastructure improvements, such as signal adjustments and lane modifications, to ensure a safer commuting environment for students.
