Zhou Xun attends Busan International Film Festival with new film

Chinese actress Zhou Xun attended the 31st Busan International Film Festival for the premiere of her new film, ‘First Taste of Loneliness’ (初次嚐到寂寞), directed by Gu You. The film, which is the only Chinese-language production selected for the festival's main competition, explores the lives of three generations of women navigating grief and family connections.

During a press conference for the film, Zhou Xun became visibly emotional while discussing the themes of loss and death depicted in her role. She shared personal reflections on losing a close friend, stating, ‘I saw a close friend seem fine, only to suddenly fall into sadness... everyone will have their closest person disappear from this world.’ While she did not name the individual, media reports suggest she may have been reflecting on the late Jia Hongsheng, a significant figure in her early career.

In addition to the press conference, Zhou Xun made a notable appearance on the festival's red carpet, drawing attention for her fashion and presence.
