Zhubei City community fire leads to three rescues

A fire broke out in a residential community in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, prompting a major rescue operation by the Hsinchu County Fire Bureau. Firefighters deployed 15 vehicles and 31 personnel to combat the blaze, which was concentrated on the third floor of a building.

Rescue teams successfully extracted three residents from the building. One individual was found in a fourth-floor bedroom in a state of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). After being transported to Tung Yuan General Hospital, the individual regained spontaneous circulation. Two other residents, who remained conscious, were treated at China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital.

The rescue was complicated by the U-shaped configuration of the community buildings, which prevented ladder trucks from accessing the inner sections, and obstructions caused by rooftop skylights and additional doors. The fire was fully extinguished at approximately 10:28 AM, covering an area of about 40 square meters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
