Zicam recalls over 318,000 cartons of nasal swabs

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. has issued a nationwide recall for more than 318,000 cartons of Zicam nasal swab products due to potential microbial contamination. The recall affects Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs (Cooling Menthol & Eucalyptus) and Zicam Nasal AllClear Swabs (20 single-use swabs per carton).

The recall follows a failure to meet Food and Drug Administration Good Manufacturing Practice standards after safety tests showed out-of-limits microbiology results. The contamination poses a risk of temporary or reversible adverse health effects in patients.

Specific affected lot numbers include: • Lot # UN52882 (Exp. 04/30/2028) • Lot # UN53431 (Exp. 06/30/2028) • Lot # UN60411 (Exp. 08/31/2028)
