Zielona Góra fathers and children to cycle in honor of St. Maximilian Kolbe

The Catholic Association Ojcostwo Powołaniem, based in Zielona Góra, is organizing a cycling expedition for fathers and children to follow the footsteps of Saint Maximilian Kolbe. The journey is scheduled to begin on August 14, departing from the Ochla district in Zielona Góra.

The route includes a stop in Bieżyce for a plenary Mass at the Church of St. Maximilian Kolbe, followed by a ride through Stargard Gubiński to Gębice. The expedition aims to commemorate the route taken by prisoners to the Stalag III B Fürstenberg transit camp, where Saint Maximilian Kolbe spent 47 days in 1939.

In addition to the physical activity, the event focuses on religious reflection and strengthening family bonds. The association, founded in 2020, also plans upcoming initiatives including a bushcraft event in the Międzyrzecz Fortified Region and the Mission 47 camp in Gębice.
