Zielona Góra Senate by-elections: 12 committees registered

The National Electoral Commission has officially registered 12 electoral committees for the upcoming Senate by-elections in constituency No. 20, which includes Zielona Góra and the counties of Krosno, Świebodzin, and Zielona Góra.

The election, scheduled for November 22, was ordered by President Karol Nawrocki to fill the vacancy left by the death of Senator Mirosław Różański in August. Różański, a former General and Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, passed away at age 63 following a battle with cancer.

Of the 12 registered committees, seven were established by political parties and five by voter groups. Committees have until October 14 to nominate candidates, each of whom must secure the support of at least 2,000 voters.
