Zigbang rebrands smart home business as Soma

Zigbang, a residential AI platform company, has rebranded its smart home business to ‘Soma’ to target premium domestic and international markets. This move follows the company’s 2022 acquisition of Samsung SDS’s Home IoT division, integrating 25 years of hardware expertise with Zigbang’s AI and digital platform capabilities.

To mark the launch, the company released the ‘Soma Care P1,’ a connected door lock specifically designed for child safety. The device features AI-powered fingerprint recognition that improves accuracy by learning subtle changes in user prints. It also sends real-time notifications to parents’ smartphones when a child arrives home and provides alerts during emergencies such as fires or intrusions.

The Soma Care P1 features a full die-casting metal body and supports mobile keys via smartphone to prevent password exposure or key loss. The product saw high demand during pre-orders, with the first round selling out within one hour. Zigbang is also integrating its existing smart home application into a unified Soma app to provide a consistent brand experience.
