Zijin Longking unveils ZL230E electric mining truck

Zijin Longking, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining Group, has unveiled the ZL230E, a battery-electric haul truck designed for intensive, 24/7 operations in ultra-large open-pit mines. Unveiled in Longyan City, Fujian Province, the vehicle is described as one of the largest battery-electric mining trucks in the world.

The ZL230E features a 1,400 kWh battery system capable of charging from 10% to 90% in approximately 25 minutes to minimize operational downtime. The truck utilizes two 800-kilowatt electric motors and a multi-axle independent-drive system to manage steep gradients and heavy loads. With a 125-cubic-meter heaped bucket, the vehicle can carry a payload of up to 230 tonnes, reaching a maximum gross vehicle weight of approximately 350 tonnes.
