Zildjian partners with Alesis to bring authentic cymbal sounds to e‑drums

Zildjian and Alesis Drums have announced a partnership that adds real Zildjian cymbal samples to electronic drum kits. The sound packs are taken from Zildjian’s exclusive Artist Vault and were recorded by the BFD Drums team. The first collection, Zildjian Session Mix Vol. 1, is already available and will be followed by additional expansions from late August throughout the year.

The packs work with BFD Player, BFD 3.5 and Alesis Strata modules, allowing electronic drummers to load authentic Zildjian cymbal tones. Zildjian CEO John Stephans said the collaboration lets “more musicians than ever experience the sound of authentic Zildjian cymbals,” while Alesis Director of Marketing Michael Weber highlighted the “nuanced sound” captured from the vault. Zildjian, founded in 1623, and Alesis, a leading electronic percussion maker since the 1980s, plan further joint developments across the inMusic family.
