Zilla Fatu expected to join WWE main roster soon
WWE is reportedly preparing Zilla Fatu for a move to the main roster, potentially joining the RAW or SmackDown brands in the near future. Despite only debuting in NXT on August 11, internal expectations suggest his tenure in the developmental brand may be brief.
Reports from WrestleVotes via Fightful Select indicate that WWE officials believe pairing Fatu with his famous wrestling relatives, such as members of the Bloodline, could establish long-term success. To facilitate this, a recent vignette aired on RAW, which served as a ‘soft introduction’ to familiarize the main roster audience with the 26-year-old before his official call-up.
Fatu, the son of the late Umaga and a member of the Anoa’i family, is scheduled to make his official in-ring debut at the NXT Heatwave event on August 30. He will compete in a Fatal Four-Way match for the NXT Championship against current champion Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, and Cruz Montana.
