Zilla Fatu makes WWE NXT debut

Zilla Fatu, son of the late WWE legend Umaga, made his official debut on the August 11, 2026, episode of NXT. Fatu, a member of the prominent Anoa'i wrestling family, appeared during a No. 1 Contender's match between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller, which was interrupted by The Main One.

Following the debut, wrestling personalities have offered varying perspectives on his trajectory. Matt Hardy suggested that Fatu should remain in the NXT developmental brand for an extended period to establish himself as an individual character rather than being immediately integrated into the Bloodline storyline. Hardy noted that a run in NXT would allow him to gain television experience without the immediate pressure of the main roster.

Bully Ray also commented on the debut, noting Fatu's potential while questioning whether the newcomer can maintain professionalism and manage his ego. Regarding his lineage, Fatu is biologically the first cousin once removed of Roman Reigns; due to Samoan tradition, he refers to Reigns as his uncle.
