Zilla Fatu makes explosive WWE NXT debut
Zilla Fatu, the 26-year-old son of the late WWE star Umaga and a member of the Anoa’i wrestling family, made his official WWE debut on the August 11, 2026, episode of NXT. Fatu interrupted a high-stakes number one contender match between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller, which was intended to determine the next challenger for NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo.
During the interference, Fatu attacked both competitors with a Samoan Drop, a Superman Punch, and consecutive Samoan Splashes, resulting in a no-contest finish. Following the assault, Fatu confronted D’Angelo at ringside, declaring himself the ‘new sheriff in town’ and signaling his intent to challenge for the NXT Championship.
Fatu, who has previously competed on the independent circuit and was trained by Booker T, is expected to undergo further development at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. His arrival significantly alters the championship landscape heading into the upcoming Heatwave event.
