Zillertal 3000 and Hintertux Glacier offer early ski season
The Zillertal 3000 ski and glacier region provides extensive winter sports infrastructure, including 206 kilometers of slopes reaching altitudes of 3,250 meters. The Hintertux Glacier serves as an early season destination, opening in early autumn to ensure snow reliability before other areas like Eggalm, Rastkogel, Penken, and Ahorn open in early December.
Infrastructure updates for the region include the planned commissioning of the new Tuxer Ferner 10-seater gondola by late October 2026. The area also features a 60-kilometer glacier circuit and various non-skiing attractions such as the Nature Ice Palace and Spannagel Cave.
Skiing in November is highlighted as a way to avoid peak crowds and benefit from lower prices for accommodation and lift passes. Destinations such as the Hintertux Glacier offer year-round snow reliability, making them viable options for early season enthusiasts.
