ZIM launches Falcon Service connecting Xiamen to South America

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has launched its new Falcon Service, marking its maiden call at the port of Xiamen, China. The service is designed to strengthen maritime connectivity between Asia and the east coast of South America, specifically targeting the River Plate region and southern Brazil.

The Falcon Service provides a direct connection between Xiamen and South American ports, including Rio Grande, Itajaí, Paranaguá, Rio de Janeiro, and Santos. The route also includes stops in Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, and Yantian. ZIM reports a transit time of approximately 32 days from northern China to the port of Itajaí, Brazil.

To support diverse logistics needs, the service includes dedicated feeder connections and specialized solutions for refrigerated (reefer) and special cargo. The expansion aims to improve efficiency for agricultural and industrial exporters and importers moving goods between South China and South American markets.
