Zimbabwe names ODI squad for series against Australia

Zimbabwe has announced a 15-man squad for an upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Australia, scheduled for September 15, 18, and 20 at the Harare Sports Club.

Sikandar Raza will captain the side, stepping in for regular skipper Richard Ngarava, who is sidelined with a lower-back injury. The squad is also missing Tanaka Chivanga due to an Achilles tendon injury and wicketkeeper-batter Clive Madande. To bolster the lineup, Zimbabwe has welcomed back experienced players Brendan Taylor and Graeme Cremer.

Blessing Muzarabani is expected to lead the pace attack, supported by Brad Evans and Newman Nyamhuri. The spin department will be managed by Cremer and Wellington Masakadza, with all-rounders Ryan Burl and Wessly Madhevere providing depth. This series marks Australia’s first ODI visit to Zimbabwe in over a decade and serves as preparation for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
