Zimbabwe women's cricket squad named for West Indies series

Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a 16-member squad for an upcoming six-match white-ball series against the West Indies Women. The series, which includes three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), is scheduled to run from September 24 to October 7.

Josephine Nkomo will lead the Lady Chevrons as captain, with Nomvelo Sibanda serving as vice-captain. The squad features several notable returns and inclusions, including wicketkeeper-batter Chiedza Dhururu and 19-year-old leg-spinner Olinder Chare. Other key players include Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Modester Mupachikwa, and Sharne Mayers, alongside emerging talents Beloved Biza and Christina Mutasa.

The ODI matches will take place at the Harare Sports Club, while the T20I matches will be held at the Takashinga Cricket Club. This series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship. Following this home series, the Zimbabwean team is scheduled to embark on their first tour of India in October.
