Zinacantepec: 14-year-old cyclist killed in hit-and-run

A 14-year-old boy died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on the Toluca–Ciudad Altamirano highway in the State of Mexico. The incident occurred near the community of San Juan de las Huertas in the municipality of Zinacantepec.

The victim, identified as Jesús, was reportedly training on his bicycle in preparation for a pilgrimage when the accident occurred at kilometer 14 of the highway. Witnesses reported that a black car struck the minor and the driver fled the scene immediately following the impact.

Emergency services arrived at the location but confirmed the boy had already passed away. The Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México has opened an investigation to identify and locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
