Zinder hosts closing ceremony for 5th International Solidarity Camp

The fifth edition of the International Solidarity Camp of the Scouts of Niger concluded in Zinder on August 26, 2026. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Governor of the Zinder region, Colonel Massalatchi Mahaman Sani.

The event brought together more than 500 young people from the eight regions of Niger and neighboring countries. Under the theme ‘Youth and Refoundation: Youth Engage in the Culture of Peace, Social Cohesion, Responsible Citizenship, and Environmental Protection,’ the camp focused on leadership, patriotism, and voluntary service.

Participants engaged in various activities, including conferences on responsible citizenship, road safety, entrepreneurship, climate change, cybercrime, and reproductive health. Environmental and public health initiatives were also central to the program, featuring tree planting, waste collection, and cleaning of gutters to improve local living conditions. Additionally, the camp included sports and cultural competitions to promote fraternity and fair play among the youth.
