Zinemaldia film festival features new works by Tony Vahl and Benjamín Naishtat

At the Zinemaldia film festival, German director Tony Vahl presented her film ‘Krux’ in the Official Section. The film, inspired by true events, explores the collective fear in a small town in northeastern Germany during the final days of the Second World War.

Vahl connected the historical themes of the film to contemporary issues, noting that modern society faces similar challenges through manipulation, fake news, and the rapid spread of fear. She emphasized the importance of maintaining an individual moral compass to avoid blindly following the crowd.

In another screening, Benjamín Naishtat presented ‘Glaxo’, a noir-inspired film featuring Lali Espósito. The film utilizes a non-linear narrative to bridge the past and present, focusing on themes of lost innocence and the historical context of the Argentine military dictatorship.
