Zion Williamson arrives at Pelicans training camp with reduced weight

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has arrived at training camp with a notable change in his physical conditioning. Williamson is currently listed at 271 pounds (approximately 123 kilograms), a decrease from the 284 pounds (129 kilograms) he maintained for much of his career.

According to his trainer, Kris Chrisp, this weight loss is part of a broader effort focused on Williamson’s overall condition and recovery. The player has expressed personal dissatisfaction with his current status, stating, “I am not where I want to be. I am simply not where I need to be.”

Williamson, 26, aims to achieve a more dominant and consistent level of play. Last season, he averaged 21 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 62 games. His recent focus on weight management and physical stability is intended to improve his availability and performance throughout the upcoming season.
