Zisis Stylianou proposes takeover to rescue Greek football club AEL
The amateur AEL (Athlitiki Enosi Larissa) announced that it welcomes the proposal of Larisian entrepreneur Zisis Stylianou to acquire the club’s shares without payment, describing the move as a potential salvation for the team.
The club urges current major shareholder Mr. Davelis to cooperate with the prospective buyer, accelerate the required financial‑tax audit, and complete the share transfer by the end of June. The AEL board stresses the urgency of resolving the ownership issue and stands ready to assist all parties involved.
In a prior statement dated 16 June 2026, the club noted that a “transfer of shares without price facilitates the transition to a new ownership regime,” and reiterated its call for interested investors to act promptly.
