Zita Oligui Nguema announces women's microproject fund in Gabon

Gabon’s First Lady, Zita Oligui Nguema, has begun a week-long private tour of the Woleu-Ntem province in northern Gabon. Upon her arrival at Ewot-Mekok airport in Oyem, she was met by Governor Jules Djéki, provincial authorities, and large crowds, primarily consisting of members of women's associations and cooperatives.

During the tour, specifically at Bissok-Centre, the First Lady announced the establishment of a support fund designed to finance microprojects led by women. This mechanism aims to assist women who face difficulties in developing or operationalizing their business projects. Local representatives expressed a need for such financial support to foster economic autonomy, while also noting regional challenges such as road degradation and crop damage caused by elephants.
