Zitácuaro political leaders unveil security and development agendas

In Zitácuaro, Michoacán – the state’s fifth‑largest municipality with about 160,000 residents – PRD figure Octavio Ocampo announced the launch of the “Movement to Recover Michoacán’s Greatness.” He criticized the state’s record on security, agriculture and infrastructure, pledged citizen forums on security, migration and indigenous issues, and promised a December presentation of collected proposals covering security, agricultural production and road repairs. Ocampo also highlighted local agricultural output that reaches Guatemala and the United States and noted the participation of two local volunteers in the Venezuelan earthquake relief effort.

Separately, Morena coordination candidate Dr. Gaby Molina addressed a press conference, stressing fair internal competition and a “level playing field” built through direct contact with voters. Her platform for the eastern region of Michoacán includes informational brigades in markets, road‑expansion projects, expanded educational programs and scholarships, protection of the monarch butterfly sanctuary alongside forest‑industry development, and social policies aimed at improving security through jobs and infrastructure.
