Zitsa municipality secures €5.6 million for new town hall in Eleousa

The Greek Ministry of Interior, led by Minister Theodoros Livanios, approved a €5.6 million funding package for the construction of a new municipal building in Eleousa, the administrative centre of the Zitsa municipality. The decision, recorded under reference 509/30‑07‑2026, was accepted by the municipal committee on 4 August 2026.

The allocation is split into two sub‑projects: the demolition of the existing roof and addition of a floor to the current town‑hall store (budget €411,865.36) and the construction of an entirely new town‑hall facility (budget €5,620,000). The project is part of the national "Antonis Tritsis" programme. Mayor Michalis Pliakos described the funding as a historic step for the community and thanked Minister Livanios for the support.
