Ziya Gökalp's intellectual legacy discussed at Ankara workshop

A workshop titled ‘The Intellectual World of Ziya Gökalp in the Context of His Works’ was held at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the thinker's birth. The event was organized through a collaboration between Keçiören Municipality, the Atatürk Research Center, and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, under the coordination of TÜRKSOY.

Expert academics evaluated Gökalp's intellectual contributions, focusing on his ideas regarding nation, nationality, culture, civilization, language, education, and society. Participants discussed his enduring legacy and the impact of his work on Turkish thought. Keçiören Deputy Mayor Dr. Atila Zorlu noted that Gökalp's influence remains strong in the Turkic world today, citing ongoing efforts in common alphabet studies and academic cooperation.
