Zlatá Pecka Festival opens with attendance by First Lady Eva Pavlová
The tenth anniversary of the Zlatá Pecka Festival, organized by opera singer Dagmar Pecková, commenced with a series of cultural events in the Chrudim region. The opening included a mass at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Chrudim and a performance by the Spirituál kvartet at Pecka Castle. This year’s festival is dedicated to the legacy of William Shakespeare.
First Lady Eva Pavlová attended the opening ceremonies, marking a notable appearance at the event. Pecková, who is also a candidate for the ODS party in the Senate election for the Prague 9 district, expressed her gratitude to Pavlová for her visit and her work. The interaction drew mixed reactions online, with some commenters debating the nature of the encounter and the funding allocated for the First Lady’s representative role.
The festival program features music, theater, and film across eight different locations, including a documentary screening in Chrudim and a concert by the Hradišťan ensemble in Holice.
