Zlatan Ibrahimović steps down from AC Milan management role

Zlatan Ibrahimović is stepping down from his operational role within the management of AC Milan. According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, the decision was made jointly by Ibrahimović and club owner Gerry Cardinale.

Since the summer of 2024, Ibrahimović has served as a senior consultant to Cardinale, holding a direct influence over the club’s sporting and technical processes. While he will no longer participate in day-to-day executive or management decisions at the San Siro, he remains part of the RedBird Capital structure. He maintains a five-year contract with the investment firm, reportedly valued at $5 million total, which may include convertible options to purchase club shares.

The shift follows a period of reduced presence at the Milanello training base. This restructuring of the management model is expected to impact the club's daily operations and the work of the current coaching staff, though current head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly not involved in the decision.
