Zlatin Georgiev retires from professional basketball
Bulgarian basketball player Zlatin Georgiev, known as ‘Goldi’, has announced his retirement from professional basketball at the age of 41. The announcement was confirmed by his final club, Levski Sofia, and via Georgiev’s own social media.
Georgiev leaves behind a highly decorated career, including seven Bulgarian Cup titles, two Bulgarian Supercups, and a Balkan League championship. He was a member of the Bulgarian national team and participated in EuroBasket 2011. His career achievements include recording over 500 three-pointers in the NBL and holding the top spot in the NBL’s all-time player efficiency rating.
Throughout his career, Georgiev played for Levski Sofia, Rilski Sportist, and Spartak Pleven. Levski Sofia honored his legacy, noting his transition from a youth player to a club captain and emphasizing his loyalty and professionalism.
