Zlatko Dalić set to lead Asian national team, rules out club jobs

Former Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalić announced that he is close to deciding his next coaching assignment and will likely take charge of a national team in Asia. He emphasized that a club role is not under consideration, stating “Rad u klubu ne dolazi u obzir.” Dalić said he has received numerous offers and will make a final decision quickly so that the new job can start in the early days of autumn. He added, “Bez lažne skromnosti, poziva je bilo i više nego dovoljno.” While he did not disclose which Asian federation he is negotiating with, he hinted that the most realistic option is a position “down in Asia.” Dalić also mentioned the possibility of bringing part of his current coaching staff with him.

The coach’s move follows a period of success with Croatia, including a World Cup 2018 runner‑up finish and a bronze medal at the 2022 tournament, and marks a clear shift from club to international management.
