Zlín Region implements major transport and highway upgrades

The Zlín Region is undergoing significant transportation transformations, focusing on modernizing public transit and improving road connectivity. Key initiatives include the expansion of the D49 highway toward Fryšták and the development of a new feeder road to connect Zlín directly to the highway network. This project, which includes the Zálešná bypass, aims to reduce traffic in the city center and improve access to the D1 highway.

In public transport, the region has implemented modern fare systems, including time-based ticketing and mobile application integration via FAIRTIQ. Efforts are also being made to enhance cross-border connectivity, specifically with the Trenčín Region in Slovakia, through the introduction of new international lines. Future goals include achieving full integration between regional transport and the Zlín municipal transit system.
