Zlín to develop new tourist viewpoint near Tomáš Baťa Memorial
A new tourist stop featuring a panoramic viewpoint is being developed in Zlín near the Tomáš Baťa Memorial. Located on the Barabáš hill slope, the installation will offer views of the city's evolution across three distinct eras: 1876 (the year of Baťa's birth), 1932 (the year of his death), and the modern city.
The structure will consist of a metal grate staircase complemented by massive wooden beams for seating. Below the seating area, a platform will feature a stylized relief of the Zlín valley, illustrating the landscape's development from Baťa's youth through the 1930s. The construction will utilize Corten steel designed to integrate with the surrounding greenery.
In addition to the physical site, visitors can access a digital database via the Zlín Architectural Manual for further historical context and visual materials.
