Zlot and Sisak hold commemorations for WWII victims and historical milestones

Commemorations were held in Zlot, Serbia, to mark the village's Liberation Day from World War II and the 187th anniversary of the Petar Radovanović Elementary School. Local delegations, including representatives from the City of Bor and various veterans' organizations, laid wreaths at monuments to honor those who died for freedom. The school, founded in 1839, is the oldest in the Bor district.

In Sisak, Croatia, the Serbian National Council organized a gathering in Diana Budisavljević Park to remember the children who perished in the Sisak wartime children's camp between August 1942 and January 1943. Historian Mario Šimunković noted that the camp, operated under the Ustaše regime, saw thousands of children—primarily Serbian children from Kozara—subjected to starvation, cold, and disease. Records indicate that 1,152 children died in the camp, representing approximately one in every six children sent there.
