Zmigaj se do vadbe project expands free fitness programs in Slovenia
The ‘Zmigaj se do vadbe’ (Move to Exercise) project is entering its second season in Slovenia, expanding its network of providers to offer more free, professionally guided exercise opportunities. Following a successful first season that assisted nearly 1,900 adults nationwide through 130 programs, the initiative aims to promote more active lifestyles.
In the Posavje statistical region, seven diverse sports and recreational programs will be available, including martial arts, aerobics, kayaking, handball, and functional training. The project is currently in a pilot phase to determine how these activities might become systematically funded or co-financed to ensure long-term accessibility for all citizens.
For the 2026/2027 season, the program plans to expand further, with 190 programs expected to take place across all 12 statistical regions of Slovenia. Participants will be able to engage in year-round training and track their progress through initial and final assessments.
