Znojmo implements new two-hour parking limit at Horní náměstí

The city of Znojmo is implementing new parking regulations at Horní náměstí, effective Wednesday, August 26. The new system imposes a strict two-hour maximum stay limit for vehicles.

Under the new rules, drivers must enter their vehicle registration number when paying via parking meters or the ParkSimply application. Once the two-hour limit is reached, motorists cannot immediately extend their stay by purchasing an additional ticket or using the app; the same vehicle may only re-park at Horní náměstí after 120 minutes have elapsed.

Mayor František Koudela stated that the change aims to increase parking turnover to ensure the historic center remains accessible to residents, shoppers, and service customers. The initiative follows requests from local entrepreneurs to prevent long-term parking from occupying central spaces. During the initial transition period, Znojmo Municipal Police will monitor compliance and assist drivers with the new system.
