Zoe Bäckstedt claims British national road race title as Wilco Kelderman wins Dutch championship

British rider Zoe Bäckstedt secured her first elite road race title at the British National Championships in Aberystwyth, attacking solo with 14 km to go and finishing with a two‑minute margin over runner‑up Josie Knight. The 21‑year‑old also repeated her under‑23 time trial victory from the previous day, completing a double at the event.

In the Netherlands, veteran Wilco Kelderman, age 35, won the Dutch men’s elite road race in Berg en Dal, claiming his first senior road race win after a solo effort on the final stretch. Kelderman joined fellow veteran Bauke Mollema on the podium.

Both championships featured dominant solo moves and marked significant career milestones for the winners.
