Zofri resumes Saturday customs services in Iquique

The Zona Franca de Iquique (Zofri) is resuming Saturday customs services starting August 29, following a period of inactivity caused by heavy rains and alluvial activity in the region. The decision, made by the Regional Customs Directorate, will operate under a trial period, or ‘marcha blanca’, lasting until October 31.

During this initial phase, customs services will be available from 09:00 to 13:30 at the sealing yard and the assessment sector, with a team of at least seven officials on duty. Authorities are evaluating the possibility of extending this Saturday schedule to the Zofri Business Park in Alto Hospicio in the coming days.

Zofri S.A. expressed support for the measure, noting it addresses operational needs and will improve the continuity of goods movement within the logistics chain. While operations are recovering gradually, the commercial center of Zofri is also expected to resume functions progressively over the weekend.
