ZOFri S.A. says termination of OMCPL membership has no impact on free‑zone operations

ZOFri S.A., the administrator of Chile’s northern free‑zone, issued a public statement after the Organización Mundial de Ciudades y Plataformas Logísticas (OMCPL) decided to end the company’s full membership. ZOFri said it had formally requested on 30 June detailed information on the rights, obligations, financial commitments and benefits linked to the membership so the new board, led by Iván Pommiez, could assess the relationship.

The company noted that the initiatives cited by OMCPL had not been previously approved by its former directorate, as confirmed in a letter from general manager Enrique Montealegre. ZOFri emphasized that the termination “does not affect the operation, users or the regulatory framework” of the free‑zone. It added that its strategic focus remains on strengthening corporate governance and negotiating the future concession of the zone with the State of Chile beyond 2030, while reaffirming its commitment to logistics development, international trade and regional integration.
