Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu calls for Indian self-reliance

Zoho co-founder and chief scientist Sridhar Vembu has advocated for India to prioritize domestic innovation, technology, and industrial capabilities to earn global respect. His comments were made in response to observations by American investor Eric Weinstein regarding rising online hostility and prejudice directed toward Indians, Hindus, and people of Indian origin.

Vembu argued that India should focus on economic development and self-reliance rather than responding to international prejudice with animosity. He stated that true global respect will be achieved when the nation develops using the talent of its own people, regardless of the political leadership in power elsewhere.
