Zoho highlights cloud redundancy as essential for disaster recovery

Zoho has highlighted the importance of cloud-based data protection as a strategic necessity for business continuity during natural disasters and global crises. Carla García, Director of New Business for Zoho in Latin America, warned that physical data centralization represents a critical vulnerability. Events such as floods, fires, or earthquakes can destroy physical headquarters, leading to a loss of operational capacity, billing abilities, and customer service, which can result in business bankruptcy.

To mitigate these risks, the company emphasizes the need for high-availability architectures and geographic redundancy. Unlike traditional storage, cloud services with international redundancy allow for continuous data replication. Zoho utilizes its own infrastructure, maintaining 18 data centers worldwide to ensure that data remains accessible even if a specific location is affected by a catastrophe.
