Zoho launches Zia Chat AI to unify enterprise data
At the Zoholics India event in Chennai, Zoho launched Zia Chat, a conversational AI interface designed to integrate across various Zoho applications and external business systems. The tool aims to solve the issue of fragmented data by allowing users to query information across different departments, such as CRM, finance, and support, using plain language.
Zoho co-founder Sridhar Vembu emphasized a philosophy of human accountability in the age of artificial intelligence. He stated that while AI is a powerful tool for research and productivity, humans must remain responsible for the final output, whether in writing or software engineering. Vembu noted that he uses AI to assist with tasks but does not allow it to replace his own thinking or writing processes, asserting that ‘the AI is not responsible. You, the human, are responsible.’
The company also announced its entry into vertical software with the introduction of seven industry-specific applications.
