Zohran Mamdani Backs DSA Candidates in New York Primary Victories

Former union organizer Oliver Larkin, a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member, is running in Florida’s newly drawn Congressional District 25. He says, “I really felt that it was important to formally join an organization… to move it in a more progressive direction,” and promotes policies such as Medicare for All, a $25 minimum wage, universal childcare and an immediate suspension of U.S. military aid to Israel.

In New York, Zohran Mamdani’s endorsements helped several DSA‑aligned candidates win Democratic nominations. His support was credited for Darializa Avila Chevalier’s victory over Adriano Espaillat, Claire Valdez’s nomination for the 7th congressional district, Brad Lander’s win in the 10th district, and Aber Kawas’s state‑senate primary win. All endorse progressive platforms that include Medicare for All, universal child care, ICE abolition and police defunding.
