Zohran Mamdani faces scrutiny over synagogue attack response and federal probe into ally's fund

Federal agents are scrutinizing whether the organization used opaque corporate entities to funnel approximately $100 million in donor funds to Al-Haq, a Palestinian group sanctioned by the United States in September.

Sources identify Bassema Yousef, a New York-born donor based in London and an ally of Mamdani’s political circle, as a central figure in the fundraising efforts. The investigation is examining whether these cross-border financial flows were used to obscure the movement of funds.
