Greek Health Minister and Opposition Leader clash in Parliament

A heated confrontation occurred in the Greek Parliament between Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Zoe Konstantopoulou, President of Plevesi Eleftherias. The dispute was triggered by Konstantopoulou’s inquiry regarding a meeting held on October 12, 2026, at the Athinaiki Lesche.

Konstantopoulou characterized the gathering as a ‘secret meeting’ involving New Democracy ministers, Israeli officials, and the Israel Allies Foundation. She accused the Minister of promoting foreign interests and stated she would pursue criminal action against him. During the exchange, she referred to Georgiadis as a ‘fascist’ and a ‘denier of the Holocaust’.

Georgiadis rejected the claim of secrecy, noting the event had 200 attendees in central Athens. He dismissed the accusations as the product of a ‘sick mind’ and criticized Konstantopoulou’s conduct, questioning her authority and accusing her of threatening him with imprisonment within the parliamentary chamber. The debate escalated into intense personal insults, with Georgiadis calling her ‘pretentious’ and questioning her character.
